On the date of : 8. 08 . 2008 the day i finally finished study for Diploma at "Genting Inti International College". Ironically it is the same day as the Olympic Game Opening Ceremony.
Gonna miss all the happy times and also the bad memories that i had face in GIIC during my studies. And not to forget gonna miss all my friend especially my friend from "Batch 18" that i close with them.
The last day that i am at the college are the most saddest day of my entire life. This is because i can't get away with all the happy memories that i have been done with all my friends at the college. If i had done anything wrong to you girl's and guy during our best time please forgive me. Please do keep in touch with me. Forget me not!
At night after my batch finish our final semester 7 which is on 8.08.2008 we had our last get together gathering. Even though the food was really awful which been cooked by "Ashwin" and " Mr Richard" but we had a lot of fun that night with all the music, the shouting that we make, and of course we did took lot's and lot's of picture together.
Now i still had the felling of wake up early 7 am in the morning preparing to go to my classes which is started at 9 am. I wonder how i can overcome the felling of not going to classes for a while?? I guess i can't because i already used to it everyday. And also not to forget that every Thursday afternoon after my class i will climbed the hill to the bus stop ready to go back KL with my beg full of my dirty clothes ready to be washed at my house every week. Even though i don't wear so much clothes but it's still heavy to carry up the hil.
I guess the most memorable time during my studies at the college is going for my internship at Golden Sand's Resort Peneng. Even though my internship is not a paid internship as other hotel offer but still it is fun doing internship there. No salary been given to me as a trainee but i did got lot's and lot's of tips from the hotel guests. The department that i have been given to be trained in is Fine Dinning for the 1st 2 months. After that i have been transfered to "Front Office" department for only 1 month. And after that one month i have been transfered to another department called "Housekeeping" again for 1 month. And the last 2 months of my internship i have be trained in "Room Service" department.
This FnB outlet called "Room Service" is the most scariest for a girl to be trained in. Usually every hotel's guy's will be working here but not girl. I guess at 1st day of my training at here i can feel the danger of serving the hotel guest the food to their room. But after the 1st day i can overcome my felling. And i did enjoy my working there. I tell you this, working in Room Service FnB outlet is the best. Can get lot's of tips. And also get a free food from the kitchen.. but make sure the FnB manager did not found out about this.... hahaha.. but it is fun.... every morning me and my friend (a trainee from UITM) will as the cold kitchen staff to give us some leftover cheese from the breakfast buffet line. And they gave us. Wanna know what we do with the cheese???? we took the cheese and put on a slice of bread and then put inside the small oven that they have in the room service. We make the cheese melt on the slice of bread and then we ate it . It is a must for us every day around 10.30 am while we are working. Our Room Service Supervisor also ask us to do for him everyday. What kind of supervisor is he. hahaha.. Sometimes orders come to many at one time. Sometimes we need to send 3 or for order at one time if there is little staff here. But when it comes to Arab Seasons, they like to order room service food. They order a lot. And of course you can get lot's of tips from the Arabic Guest. Lot's of happy memories that i have been missing here at room service.. what to do past is past..
The last good memories that is still fresh in my mind is that me and my good friend in my batch working in the kitchen for the "Inti Camp". 1st time in my entire life me and my friends never get any pressure with the Chef. We all enjoying working. Wake up early in the morning sleep late night. Even though i was tired that weekend but still worth it for the success of the event.
Speaking of event, during my studies here we do have to conduct 2 events. 1st is before our internship. 2nd is after our internships. The 1st event that my group have to do is a set menu food or called (Table d'hote menu) the price is RM 25. The event theme is " Amazon Night" i guess still don't know is it the theme or what. But for sure it is has a connection with Jungle and the Anaconda snake.. my position for this event are " Sales and Marketing".... the event turn out to be a disaster.. this is because the chef who cooked the soup is not enough. It is suppose a Cream soup and because it is not enough my friend the chef who cooked the soup at more hot water to make it more and turnout to become a clear soup. which half the guest that come get to eat the cream soup and other guest get to eat the the clear soup..
The second event that my group have to do is a buffet dinner... the theme is " One Night In Japan" also turnout to be a disaster. This time my position is a pastry chef... as for the dessert there is no problem about the dessert.. but as for the main course " Fried Tempura" my executive chef supposedly do a life cooking in front of the guest but eventually she don't know how to fry the " Tempura" . As for this i can't speak a word about her. I am so speechless at that time. The event already started suddenly she said i don't know how to mix the the tempura floor and also don't know how to fried it.. you know where she wanted to fried the Tempura?? she wanted to fry the tempura in a shallow skillet frying pan.. at that time i felt i wanted to laugh... but what to i also get scold because of her lack of knowledge about frying it... past is past... i as her kitchen team member should not laugh at her.. but still for her mistake other's kitchen staff get scold... try to forget this moment from now.....
i guess till this only i can write. maybe my next post is the continue of this college life stories... wait till my next post ya.... sorry if what i write is not in order as the year pass by.. but still remember all those things .....

I just joint with you only 2 semesters. And many anniversaries are in my memory.I m very glad to be friend with you , Amie & all you guys in our batch 18. I wish i can join with you guys until i finish this diploma but can't. & then i hope you will get a opportunity in yr life & will be successful in the way you choose in near future. hope I & you are be friends forever until we die, hope I & you are be friends forever until we die..
